It was a thanksgiving with a difference! The affair was a celebration of thanks and a chance to rally the community to dig deep [into their pockets] to help a sick Overseas Contract Worker (OCW) and his family in need of financial assistance.

The Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations, Inc (APCO) had a thanksgiving dinner and dance party to celebrate and thank all those who helped in the success of the Freedom Ball last June. It was also an opportunity for APCO to appeal for financial help to assist the Concepcion family from Pampanga, Philippines whose sole breadwinner an OCW, was diagnosed with cancer. (more…)

The Philippine Community Council of NSW (PCC-NSW) will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary on 11 September 2010. The event kicks off at 6.30pm and will be held at Blacktown RSL Club at Second Avenue, Blacktown.

To mark this milestone, the current board of the PCC-NSW extends its invitation to the community. The members of the board specifically want to contact all those who have served in PCC. (more…)

Philippine Health Care Association of Australia (PHCAA) donates four boxes of assorted medicines, Blood Glucose Monitoring Machines and Inhaler Machines for asthma sufferers to Nabas, Aklan Health Centre.

Mrs. Ella Magallanes Martirez (extreme left) always makes time to include charity work when visiting family and friends in the Philippines.

Donations came from two different pharmacies, Donsworth Doonside and St. John’s Park as well as those contributed by some doctors in Sydney.
