(Editor’s note: Before I published this article, I had the rare opportunity of actually having lunch with a person in New South Wales believed by many to be carrying the HIV virus. The person will not be named to protect his/her privacy. According to that person, the HIV was diagnosed some 25 years ago. After having been treated with a series of FREE injections and medications over the years, the person claimed that he/she no longer has the infection. The person clearly stated that the World Health Organisation provides free medication in its rigorous attempt to totally eradicate HIV. Note that WHO is successful in getting rid of Small Pox.) Yes, but the risk is relatively low.

HIV is transmitted through seminal and vaginal fluids, including menstrual fluids. The virus can enter the body through the bloodstream or by passing through delicate mucous membranes, such as inside the vagina, rectum or urethra.

If a person gives fellatio and has bleeding gums, a cut, or an ulcer inside their mouth, HIV could enter their bloodstream through infected fluid. This could also happen if infected fluid from a woman gets into the mouth of her partner during oral sex. (more…)

A seminar on understanding the End-of-Life Care was held on April 24, 2016 at the Blacktown Library Function Centre, under the auspices of the Timek Iti La Union Association. The speaker was Remedios Alvarez-Solarte, MSN, RN, NP, Professor Emeritus of Nursing from Michigan, USA. She is a multi-awarded Filipino-American, who is a Founding Member of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) and an inducted member of the Far Eastern University Institute of Nursing, Hall of Fame.
