January 25, 2011. Four people were killed and 14 others injured when a bomb exploded inside a passenger bus that was travelling along EDSA in Makati City, Metro Manila. The blast caused a big hole on the floor and side of the Newman Gold Liner. According to reports, there was a man who placed a bag inside the passenger bus but immediately left prior to the explosion. <\/p>\n<p>As of press time, police investigators have not determined whether it was a terrorist attack. It happened two months after the US and several other Western governments warned that a terrorist attack in Metro Manila was imminent. &#8220;Terrorist attacks could be indiscriminate and could occur not only in the southern islands but also in other areas, to include Manila,&#8221; the US advisory said. &#8220;Targeted sites may be public gathering places that are frequented by expatriates and foreign travelers, including American citizens.\u201d (SOURCE: Agence France-Presse)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manila, Philippines.
