{"id":166,"date":"2009-01-13T03:38:31","date_gmt":"2009-01-12T17:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=166"},"modified":"2009-01-13T03:38:31","modified_gmt":"2009-01-12T17:38:31","slug":"australian-households-to-benefit-from-renewable-energy-and-new-solar-credits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=166","title":{"rendered":"Australian households to benefit from Renewable Energy and New Solar Credits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Federal Member for Chifley, Roger Price has welcomed the Government\u2019s 20 per cent Renewable Energy Target and new \u201cSolar Credits\u201d as part of Australia\u2019s move to a low pollution future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Renewable Energy Target (RET) will ensure 20 per cent of Australia\u2019s electricity is sourced from renewable energy by 2020, helping us build a low-pollution economy, and creating job opportunities in the future\u201d Mr. Price said.<\/p>\n<p>The Solar Credits will provide an incentive for people to install micro-generation units, primarily household solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Solar Credits will allow owners of solar panels to earn five credits (called Renewable Energy Certificates, or RECs) for each mega-watt hour of solar energy produced by their solar panels.
