To aid in the construction of shelters for typhoon Sendong victims in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro, PCC NSW (Philippine Community Council of NSW) donated $5,764 from the proceeds of \u2018Bukas Palad\u2019 (Open Hands) Charity Concert.<\/p>\n
The Concert staged last month netted $7,764 in raffles and entrance ticket sales, and cash contributions from Fil-Oz organizations and individuals. The balance of $2,000 from the net proceeds will remain in the PADER (Philippine Australia Disaster Emergency Response) account of PCC><\/p>\n
The donation was coursed through the Philippine Consulate General, Sydney. It was remitted to the Consulate at a hand-over ceremony during the induction of the new PCC NSW Board, held on February 17, 2012 at the Philippine Consulate office. Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis inducted the new officers. <\/p>\n
PCC NSW Board expresses deep appreciation to the Consul General and her staff for hosting the induction.
