Impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona<\/strong> had threatened to blow away with a gun a hapless 83-year-old caretaker of a property of the Basa-Guidote Enterprises, Inc. (BGEI) in Manila, a whistle-blower has revealed in an explosive media interview.<\/p>\n

Ana Basa<\/strong>, a first cousin of Corona\u2019s wife Cristina, said that she had decided to risk her life and come out in the open to reveal the injustices which the Coronas had heaped on members of the Basa-Guidote clan in selling their property in Bustillos, Manila and in taking over BGEI.<\/p>\n

\u201cGusto mo\u2019ng pasabugin ko mukha mo (You want me to blow away your face)!\u201d shouted an angry Corona to the caretaker Pedro Aguillon or \u201cMang Indo\u201d in an incident in 1997 which Ana recounted.<\/p>\n

In a sworn affidavit he executed after the incident, Aguillon said the Coronas also destroyed a small house he built on the BGEI property which the Coronas later sold to the City of Manila for over P30 million in a transaction hidden from other BGEI owners.<\/p>\n

Aguillon narrated in his affidavit that Corona got mad at him for not padlocking the Bustillos property, while Ana recounted that the caretaker also earned Corona\u2019s ire when he allowed the Basas to enter the property to investigate tenant complaints against Cristina.
\nAna revealed that the Coronas also sent goons to scare away his father Jose Ma. Basa III and mother Raymunda, with the latter at age 83 at present still unable to come home because of the libel case filed by the Coronas against her. She said that Corona also used his positions in government to intimidate judges of the cases involving them and BGEI.<\/p>\n

She said that during hearings, Corona would walk into the court with his bodyguards in tow and at some instances even barged into the chambers of the presiding judges. Ana said that while she wondered whether the judges were intimidated by Corona, she said it\u2019s a fact that they lost all their cases against the Coronas.<\/p>\n
