{"id":2190,"date":"2012-10-03T04:59:42","date_gmt":"2012-10-02T18:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=2190"},"modified":"2012-10-03T04:59:42","modified_gmt":"2012-10-02T18:59:42","slug":"dental-care-plan-to-end-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=2190","title":{"rendered":"Dental Care Plan to end soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dentists are warning patients will be put at risk and millions of dollars wasted because of the Federal Government&#8217;s rapid shut down of the chronic disease dental scheme.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The scheme, which is costing nearly $1 billion a year, was described by health minister Tanya Plibersek as one of the \u201cmost widely misused schemes ever designed in our public health system.\u201d It will now be scrapped in just 9 week\u2019s time.<\/p>\n<p>The health department has said that any patient who has not received the relevant GP care plan items before will not be able to access Medicare funds for dental work. <\/p>\n<p>A more serious issue is that dentists are only being given until November 30, 2012  to complete dental treatment.
