font-family: 'Arial Narrow'; color: black\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Arial Narrow'; color: black\">\u201cThe recommendations of the report are aimed at addressing key issues challenging older Australians &#8211; such as bed shortages and waiting lists. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Arial Narrow'; color: black\">Mrs Markus said it is crucial that the Rudd government address these concerns, as the aged care sector is in crisis. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 3pt; font-family: 'Arial Narrow'; color: black\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Arial Narrow'; color: black\">\u201cAt a time when the number of Australians aged 65 and over is set to explode, an under-subscription of beds \u2013 leading to more bed shortages and longer waiting lists \u2013 is a disaster for Australians in need of aged care,\u201d Mrs Markus said. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 3pt; font-family: 'Arial Narrow'; color: black\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Arial Narrow'; color: black\">\u201cIn Greenway, there are just over 10,000 persons aged 65 and over.
