The Banag-Banag Association sure knows how to party!<\/p>\n
Banag-Banag celebrated their 15th Anniversary last 1 August 2009 at Rooty Hill RSL Club, Rooty Hill.<\/p>\n
With the Latin theme, ‘Copacabana’ it\u00a0was a night of hip-swaying, booties shaking, passions dripping\u00a0and sweat trickling down as the crowd squeezed shoulder to shoulder on the dance floor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unable to resist the Latin beat, people were dancing even in the\u00a0aisles.\u00a0 Perhaps the biggest crowd yet for a Filipino community function, it was packed beyond capacity with 600 in attendance.<\/p>\n
The group, Brazilian Fantasy were showstoppers providing jaw-dropping, eye-pooping dance moves.\u00a0 Other entertainers included: Brian Lorenz, Cleo Diana, Chelsea Castillo and the Dance Junction.\u00a0 Max Lopez took to the stage as the evening’s host.<\/p>\n
To add to the festivities, the guests came all dressed up for the occasion in the brightest colours,\u00a0 decked with raffles and fruit baskets on their heads ala Carmen Miranda\u00a0to compete\u00a0for the\u00a0the best\u00a0Latin costume.<\/p>\n
Rachael Rebollido, president of Banag-Banag credited the success of the evening to the passion, commitment and the unity\u00a0of\u00a0its members “who really worked hard for this event.”<\/p>\n
“All proceeds from the event go to sustain their charitable projects that help improve the quality of life in the Visayan region,” said the spokesperson for the group.<\/p>\n
Over the past 3 years, the Banag-Banag Association has risen slowly and has proven that they’re a force to be reckoned with in the community.\u00a0 It’ll be a hard act to follow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
