{"id":308,"date":"2009-08-12T06:32:44","date_gmt":"2009-08-11T20:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=308"},"modified":"2009-08-12T06:32:44","modified_gmt":"2009-08-11T20:32:44","slug":"another-c-5-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=308","title":{"rendered":"Another C-5 Incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by <b>Monique<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Yes, this is true.\u00a0We had an unfortunate encounter with those C-5 squatters last Father&#8217;s Day night.<\/p>\n<p>My husband Rey and I and our 1-year old daughter Jana, were driving home around 9:30pm along the centre lane of C-5 southbound lane, in the area between Petron Gas Station and Heritage Park.\u00a0 Two men suddenly crossed very casually and when we were close enough, started to hurl a shirt with something heavy like a rock hidden inside, toward Rey&#8217;s window. It was a good thing that Rey was quick enough to swerve our car away to the right, just in time to avoid the attack.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With a baby on board, and being 5-months pregnant myself, it scares us and makes us even angrier to think what could have happened had these guys succeeded with their modus operandi.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s pathetic how local officials allowed squatters to proliferate within that area and left C-5 open and vulnerable to all their activities.\u00a0There was obviously no police presence. The area was dimly lit and anyone can really be a likely and helpless victim to these criminals.<\/p>\n<p>I hate saying, &#8220;ingat na lang tayo&#8221; (Let\u2019s all be careful) because it&#8217;s like we&#8217;re just surrendering our family&#8217;s fate to fate, when the police and local government JUST NEED TO DO THEIR JOBS.<\/p>\n<p>We will try to post a letter in citizen patrol inquirer, or do whatever we can to somehow &#8220;scream&#8221; at the police and local officials in that area.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, please do avoid that area whenever you can.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Monique Yes, this is true.\u00a0We had an unfortunate encounter with those C-5 squatters last Father&#8217;s Day night.
