Federal MP for Chifley, Ed Husic<\/span><\/strong>, has <\/span>welcomed furnishing giant IKEA\u2019s commitment to find local staff for its soon-to-be-built Marsden Park store.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n Mr Husic was part of the official party involved in the ceremonial \u201cgroundbreaking\u201d at the 76,000 square metre site on the Sydney Business Park on Richmond Road at Marsden Park NSW.<\/span><\/p>\n The IKEA store will be the second largest in the state and is due for completion by mid-2015.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was particularly pleased to hear IKEA commit to staffing this store with local employees,\u201d Mr Husic said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWestern Sydney needs job magnets such as IKEA and the Bunnings, Costco and Masters Home Improvement ventures which will be built on the Sydney Business Park site,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cYesterday, across the road from the Sydney Business Park, I was pleased to be part of the sod turning for the Greenway Housing development at Marsden Park.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTo see the housing and business sectors being developed at the same time is exactly the shot in the arm this part of Sydney needs.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cCreating jobs locally helps family stability and also means that workers can spend more quality time with their families because they don\u2019t have frustratingly long commutes to and from work every day,\u201d he concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n
