For many, it was worth the long travel. Bamboo Ma\u00f1alac<\/strong> is the Philippines\u2019 Prince of Rock and a well-respected, award-winning singer and songwriter. Fresh from his sold out concerts in US, Canada, Ireland, Japan, and recently Dubai, the former Rivermaya front man and now \u2018Coach Bamboo\u201d of The Voice <\/em>(Philippines) performed his greatest hits including Noypi, Ulan, Elisi, <\/em>214, Hallelujah<\/em>, and Awit ng Kabataan<\/em>.<\/p>\n Bamboo\u2019s concert was held at the Whitlam Centre, Liverpool, a modern stadium with a maximum capacity of 3,200 people. Supporting the concert were very promising local performers: Trinity Young, Henna Perez, Ylona Garcia; and Sydney and Melbourne rock bands Kakulay<\/em>, Negative Saints and Our Tribe.<\/p>\n \u201cBamboo is a rock icon whose songs define our generation and whose staying power in the music industry is admirable. When he left Rivermaya in 1998 at the peak of the band\u2019s career, we waited for five years for him to return. And return big time he did.
