Anthony Mundine hopes to persuade Floyd Mayweather to fight him in September. <\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Anthony Mundine has penned an unusual open letter to Floyd Mayweather, begging the boxing great to be his next opponent.<\/p>\n

The Australian fighter pleaded to be considered for his final bout on September 12 in the emoji-filled piece, published on boxa.com.au<\/p>\n

He introduced himself as “the uncrowned best athlete of all time” before listing his achievements and making his case to Mayweather.<\/p>\n

“It’s a 50-50 fight! Best athlete v best fighter? Both got fast feet fast hands & fast mouth or relinquish the Title as you’re preventing fighters like me in this position to take on the other champions or the bigger names in sport!”<\/p>\n

“I think you’re the best of our era & everybody wanna fight you \u2014 but I’m the wonder from down under and the only one that can solve the mayvinci code!” Mundine wrote.<\/p>\n

“So what I’m trying to get at is I’m hoping to land the fight with you in September!<\/p>\n

“You don’t ask, you don’t get! Consider a colourful character who’s your mandatory for September. It won’t be boring before, during or after the fight!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

He went onto say he has “attributes” other potential opponents Karim Mayfield and Andr\u00e9 Berto do not (possess), and would make for a “good boxing spectacle both in and outta the ring.”<\/p>\n

“You want show time \u2014 I am show time!” he said. “Somebody the world needs to see! I’ll give you a way better go than you been getting!<\/p>\n

Mundine claimed to have revived boxing in Australia \u2014 “I gave it mouth-to-mouth” \u2014 but was still being belittled by local media despite his achievements in the ring and rugby league.<\/p>\n

“I already know I’m the best two sport champion ever. I don’t need their validation. That’s why I’m a-reachin out to you Floyd. Put on a Boxing spectacular.<\/p>\n

“I’m a fan of yours but I truly believe you were put on this earth for me to beat inshallah<\/em>! (God willing) No disrespect just my belief…<\/p>\n

“I come from the land of the Kangaroo where us natives shake a leg. Let’s go!” (AAP)<\/strong><\/p>\n

As of press time, no response has been given by Mayweather. <\/em>Even if Mayweather eventually decides to give Pacquiao<\/strong> a rematch, shoulder surgery will keep the Filipino boxer out until 2016, and Mayweather is likely to fight again in September.
