{"id":4719,"date":"2018-02-01T13:22:26","date_gmt":"2018-02-01T13:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=4719"},"modified":"2018-03-19T02:15:03","modified_gmt":"2018-03-18T15:15:03","slug":"australian-army-captain-suggests-that-sex-workers-be-sent-to-the-front-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=4719","title":{"rendered":"Australian Army Captain suggests that sex workers be sent to the front line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Australian army captain has suggested sex workers be sent to the front line to relieve soldiers from their stress.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Captain Sally Williamson wrote an article called &#8220;<em>Sex and War <\/em><em>?<\/em><em> A Conversation Army Has To Have&#8221;<\/em>, which was posted on the &#8216;Land Power Forum&#8217;, a blog published by the Australian Army, on November 6.<\/p>\n<p>In the article, which has since been removed, Captain Williamson ruminated on how best to stop sexual violence in the military, the\u00a0<em>Daily Telegraph<\/em> reports. One of her proposed solutions was that &#8220;the Army could contract Australian male and female sex workers to service troops in forward-operating bases and air bases&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>However, she admitted there were &#8220;moral, legal, practical, medical and logistical barriers&#8221; to the idea of bringing sex workers to the front line.
