{"id":488,"date":"2010-01-12T02:45:49","date_gmt":"2010-01-11T16:45:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=488"},"modified":"2010-01-12T02:45:49","modified_gmt":"2010-01-11T16:45:49","slug":"plans-for-airport-at-badgerys-creek-abandoned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=488","title":{"rendered":"Plans for Airport at Badgerys Creek abandoned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Honourable Anthony Albanese, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government announced that plans for a second Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek have been abandoned. <\/p>\n<p>Mr Albanese released the Government\u2019s much anticipated Aviation White Paper outlining the Government\u2019s plans for the Aviation Industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has been a long struggle to achieve this outcome\u201d, Federal MP Roger Price said. \u201cOnly Tony Abbott and the Liberal Party continue to advocate for an airport at Badgerys Creek.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Government will establish a joint taskforce to address additional airport capacity for Sydney, including any future airport sites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have long advocated for the Badgerys Creek site to be used to establish a Technology, Education and Learning Corridor and hope that this will be fully explored.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Honourable Anthony Albanese, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government announced that plans for a second Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek have been abandoned.
