{"id":5089,"date":"2018-05-28T06:31:56","date_gmt":"2018-05-27T20:31:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=5089"},"modified":"2018-05-28T06:31:56","modified_gmt":"2018-05-27T20:31:56","slug":"diabetes-information-workshop-for-the-filipino-community-by-elen-limun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=5089","title":{"rendered":"Diabetes Information Workshop for the Filipino Community  By Elen Limun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Julie Nunez, OAM, conducted a Diabetes Awareness Information Session last April 20 &#038; 27 and May 11, 2018 at the Blacktown City Library.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The workshop, aimed at providing practical information on how to identify diabetes; how to prevent its onset and how to manage it, was attended by members of the Filipino community and non-Filipino spouses. <\/p>\n<p>The three-day workshop was sponsored by the Western Sydney Health District Multicultural Unit and the Philippine Health Care Association of Australia-Philippine Nurses Association. <\/p>\n<p>Julie Nunez is a community leader and a Bilingual Health Educator.
