{"id":5215,"date":"2018-07-31T21:53:08","date_gmt":"2018-07-31T11:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=5215"},"modified":"2018-07-31T21:53:08","modified_gmt":"2018-07-31T11:53:08","slug":"passenger-dies-on-board-qantas-plane-forced-to-divert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=5215","title":{"rendered":"Passenger dies on board Qantas; plane forced to divert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Qantas flight was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Adelaide overnight after a female passenger died on board.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The early morning QF2 flight from London, via Singapore was forced to land in Adelaide because of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The jet was travelling from London to Sydney when a medical emergency occurred, a Qantas spokeswoman told nine.com.au.<\/p>\n<p>Flight crew and a doctor travelling on board battled to save the critically-ill passenger.<\/p>\n<p>A witness on board said there were very dramatic scenes as crew members and some passengers tried to save the life of the woman behind curtains just a few metres away from the kitchen gallery. <\/p>\n<p>The plane landed at Adelaide airport at about 4.30am.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our crew did everything they could, including helping perform CPR with a doctor who was on board, but unfortunately the passenger has passed away,\u201d the spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our thoughts are with the passenger&#8217;s family.&#8221; The flight has landed in Sydney about two hours behind schedule. <\/p>\n<p>The identity of the passenger was withheld pending notification of the family. <\/p>\n<p>It then took off and headed to Sydney which was its original final destination. <\/p>\n<p>Police were advised that the Qantas flight bound for Sydney had to be diverted to Adelaide.
