Department stores, with the intention of luring people to shop early for Christmas do the same thing. Not just multi-coloured lights but Christmas carols fill the air in shopping malls. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Lantern Parade and Contest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In keeping with this Filipino tradition, leading Filipino organisations in New South Wales have sponsored a two-day Lantern Parade and Contest at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, Sydney. It is scheduled this month on November 10 and 11.
