This is one reminder of the unkind and unsafe world we\u2019re living in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On April Fool\u2019s Day, singer and administration critic Jim Paredes saw a sex video of himself go viral. I was shown that video as we waited in court for another bail posting for yet another case against Rappler, and dismissed it as a joke. Paredes himself initially branded it as \u201cfake,\u201d but later backtracked and admitted it\u2019s real. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a time in our lives when what was private remained private. Those\ndays are gone, and the sooner we embrace that \u2013 in our personal and\nprofessional lives \u2013 the better for our sanity.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a time in our lives when we knew the truth and would not be swayed instantly by false claims and manipulated behavior. Those days are gone. Your life on Facebook is a grim daily reminder of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
