I outlined Labor\u2019s vision for a fairer,\nmore equal Australia where everyone gets a fair go.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s an Australia where your Medicare card determines your access to health\ncare, not your credit card.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our health care system is the envy of the world, but it\u2019s one where hundreds\nof thousands of Australians skip vital scans or doctors\u2019 visits because of the\ncost. <strong>That\u2019s why <\/strong><strong>I announced Labor\u2019s plan for free live<\/strong><strong>-saving scans for\ncancer patients.\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our plan will eliminate out-of-pocket costs for up to six million scans for\ncancer services. <strong>Labor will provide three million free consultations with\noncologists and surgeons for cancer patients.\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>And finally, that any drug recommended for the Pharmaceutical\nBenefits Scheme would be listed on the scheme<\/strong>\u2501 because the\nindependent experts who run the scheme know best what medicines\nAustralians need.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This is the biggest cancer care package in Australian history.\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cancer is one of the biggest killers in Australia. Cancer is frightening, it\u2019s\nisolating, it\u2019s exhausting.
