Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo had previously said that the President is in the \u201cpink of health.\u201d Panelo is now compelled to change the colour to \u2018green.\u2019 Panelo admitted that the Chief Executive is \u201cnot normal\u201d anymore because of his various ailments.<br><br>Among others, there were earlier official reports that the president has Buerger\u2019s disease, a rare disease of the arteries and veins in the arms and legs. The disease is an ailment where blood vessels thicken and are prone to clotting. He blamed his heavy-smoking during his younger years for it.<br><br>When asked to explain further, Panelo explained that \u201cgreen of health\u201d is a lower stage compared to \u201cpink of health\u201d \u2501 which means a physical condition is at its peak.<br><br>\u201cHindi na pink, green lang (No longer pink but just green). Which is kung ano \u2018yong sakit ng matatanda sa edad niya (whatever sickness a person his age has), ordinarily he has that,\u201d he noted.<br><br>There were speculations and questions about Duterte\u2019s state of health especially after several incidents where he skipped certain engagements due to minor illnesses. The most recent of which was his trip to Japan, which he decided to cut short after complaining of \u201cunbearable\u201d back pain. There was earlier admission that his back pain was due to a motorcycle accident. And yet, he continues to ride his motorcycle.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>Denies that he has cancer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/1119_ArtImg_DuterteHealth02.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6157\" width=\"567\" height=\"368\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">\u201cI have no cancer. I have four illnesses but they are not fatal,\u201d President Rodrigo Duterte said.
