{"id":6245,"date":"2020-03-01T12:22:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-01T01:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=6245"},"modified":"2020-04-12T15:22:06","modified_gmt":"2020-04-12T05:22:06","slug":"philippine-nurses-assn-of-australia-inc-resigns-from-pcc-nsw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philippinesentinel.org\/?p=6245","title":{"rendered":"Philippine Nurses Association of Australia Inc. resigns from PCC-NSW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\"><em>As seen on the March 2020 issue of Philippine Tribune<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amid the controversy surrounding the election of officers of the Philippine Community Council of NSW, the Philippine Nurses Association of Australia (PNAA) appears to have left PCC-NSW in disgust.<br><br>Nelma Gallas, a registered nurse and acting president of PNAA, wrote an official letter addressed to the Officer-in-charge of PCC-NSW saying that the PNAA Board had made the \u201cdecision to withdraw membership\u201d from the Filipino organisation. It seemed deliberate that the letter was not addressed to the president-elect of PCC-NSW.<br><br>Mr. Alfred Silvino, Founding Director of Philippine Health Care Association of Australia (PHCAA) and PNAA, informed Philippine Tribune that the Returning Officer of PCC-NSW snubbed the representation and intention of Dr. Julie Nu\u00f1ez, OAM to vote during the elections held last February 16.<br><br>In an email, a former office bearer of PCC-NSW wrote that Dr. Nu\u00f1ez, being a distinguished OAM has a lot more credibility than someone who is a mere member of an ethnic group. Nu\u00f1ez was authorised by Marvin Ang, incumbent president of PNAA to vote on his behalf.
