Public warned against fraudulent GSIS agents

The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney informs the General Public of New South Wales that three private individuals have been misrepresenting the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) of the Philippines in securing reinsurance contracts in London and Australia.

Efren O. Docena, Roberto C. Ibasco, and Arnulfo R. Madriaga have been securing reinsurance contracts and claims without the authority of the GSIS. The three men are either retired from the GSIS or not even connected with the GSIS. GSIS President and General Manager Robert G. Vergara posted a notice warning the public against Efren O. Docena, Roberto C. Ibasco, and Arnulfo R. Madriaga.

The GSIS has not authorized Messrs. Docena, Ibasco and Madriaga, either individually or in concert, to enter into any Reinsurance Agreement or Contract on behalf of the GSIS.

Any contract or agreement entered into by the three men is fraudulent. The GSIS stated that it assumes no responsibility to compensate or indemnify any party for any contract or agreement entered into by Messrs. Docena, Ibasco and Madriaga.
