Movements in Parramatta Diocese

It was officially announced by the Chancery of the Diocese of Parramatta that Fr. Kevin Walsh has retired from active ministry. Fr. Kevin was formerly the administrator in the parish of Blessed John XXIII in Stanhope Gardens. His retirement follows after many years of service in the Parramatta Diocese.

When asked for comment, Fr. Kevin said that he voluntarily retired to focus more on the care of his aging mother. Well-wishers may contact him at PO Box 312 Stanhope

Fr Renato Paras, parish priest of Rooty Hill retired in mid-July 2011. It has been reported that he now resides at the Pearce Street units.

There will be a concert for Fr. Renato on October 22 at the Hills Centre in Castle Hill in thanksgiving for his 30 years service to the Filipino-Australian community.

Various Filipino talents led by Dexter Villahermosa will perform during the concert. Villahermosa played the lead role of ‘Tuy’ during the internationally-acclaimed musical Miss Saigon.

A Mass of Thanksgiving is also being organised by the Filipino community on October 30 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta.
