Entrepreneur and Beauty Queen team up

Social entrepreneur and youngest global leader awardee of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Illac Diaz and our very own Beauty queen titleholder, model and recently admitted lawyer, Aprille Lim, team up on Saturday November 5 at Granville Community Youth Centre (3-A Memorial Avenue, Granville) for their “Spring out of Poverty” charity event. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. for the show that will start at 5:00 p.m.

Aprille will be holding a charity event to raise funds on behalf of Diaz’s non profit organization, MyShelter Foundation, which aims to create a system of sustainability and reliability by developing uncommon solutions to common problems in under-privileged communities.

Whilst Aprille’s beauty queen reign is well over, Aprille continues to engage in charitable works. She will be raising funds for Diaz’s project “Isang Litrong Liwanag” or “1 Litre of Light.”

The project is a sustainable lighting project which aims to light one million homes in 2012 nationwide by simply using a recycled plastic bottle, water, bleach, galvanized iron and sunlight. Put together, it creates light bright enough to light up even the darkest of rooms. The project itself has gained international recognition with CNN and Thomson Reuters.

Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased by contacting Aprille Lim on aprillelim@gmail.com or at the door.

Please show your support for this event. The show will consist of local Sydney artists showcasing their talent across song, dance and fashion for this eco-friendly charitable cause.

Following this event, Aprille will be heading to Manila to help Illac with his sustainable lighting project in the Philippines, giving light to communities all throughout December.
