PDI Columnist meets Filipino media in Sydney by Jaime Pimentel

Well-respected Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Conrado de Quiros met the Filipino press late last month at the Banksia Room of Dooleys Club in Lidcombe NSW. The meeting was organised by corporate lawyer but non-media personality Kate Andres.

Contrary to reports that the press meeting was organised by Gawad Kalinga, Ms. Andres was the sole convenor who shouldered all costs, including the dinner tab of guests.

Gawad Kalinga communications officer Maria Montelibano accompanied Mr. de Quiros. Some members of the Filipino community attended the meeting and took part in the question-and-answer session, but their questions were exclusively about Gawad Kalinga.

Media representatives present were Neria Soliman, Nilda Carpo, Millie Phillips, Ronald Manila, Nonoy Perdon, Evelyn Zaragoza, and this writer.
