Two Filipinos make it to Forbes.com list of Billionaires

In spite of India being classified as one of the poorest countries in the world, three Indian nationals living in India have been listed as among the world’s top 12 billionaires. They are Mukesh Ambani, age 50, with a net worth of $43 billion; Anil Ambani, age 48, whose net worth is $42 million; and KP Singh, age 76, with a net worth of $30 billion.

There are a total of 1,125 billionaires in the world but only 2 Filipinos made it to the list. Ranked 834 is Lucio Tan of Fortune Tobacco and Philippine Airlines whose net worth is $1.5 Billion; and Henry Sy (ranked 895) of SM Shoemart with a net worth of $1.4 Billion. In contrast, there are 50 Indian Billionaires. Kerry Stokes of Australia and Lucio Tan of the Philippines are in the same rank having $1.5 Billion.

The youngest, aged 23, is Mark Zuckerberg from Palo Alto, CA, USA, a Harvard University dropout. Mark made his billion from the social networking site Facebook which he created in his Harvard dorm room in 2004.
