– A 39-year-old woman of Filipino descent is facing two life sentences for allegedly pouring a pot of boiling water over her sleeping ex-husband and then hitting him with a baseball bat last November.
It was reported in ABS-CBN News that the suspect Jesusa Tatad has no prior criminal record. She is being held in lieu of a $600,000 bail.
The victim, her 36-year-old ex-husband, later died in hospital from his injuries. His name has not been released. The incident occurred last November 26, 2011.
Tatad and her ex-husband were divorced but are living together. Prosecutors said the victim was reportedly being unfaithful to her. (Balitang America)
