PCC NSW Donates Concert Proceeds by Solina Lapalma, PCC PRO

To aid in the construction of shelters for typhoon Sendong victims in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro, PCC NSW (Philippine Community Council of NSW) donated $5,764 from the proceeds of ‘Bukas Palad’ (Open Hands) Charity Concert.

The Concert staged last month netted $7,764 in raffles and entrance ticket sales, and cash contributions from Fil-Oz organizations and individuals. The balance of $2,000 from the net proceeds will remain in the PADER (Philippine Australia Disaster Emergency Response) account of PCC>

The donation was coursed through the Philippine Consulate General, Sydney. It was remitted to the Consulate at a hand-over ceremony during the induction of the new PCC NSW Board, held on February 17, 2012 at the Philippine Consulate office. Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis inducted the new officers.

PCC NSW Board expresses deep appreciation to the Consul General and her staff for hosting the induction. The Board also acknowledges the Affiliates’ Presidents/Representatives, Fil-Oz Media, community leaders and friends for attending the event despite the very short notice.
