Pacquiao vs. Marquez on Dec. 8

The deal has already been signed and the grudge match between the 2 fighters will become a reality on December 8 this year at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.

According to promoter Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s purse is a guaranteed $25 million inclusive of his pay-per-view share.

This will be the first fight of the Saranggani Congressman since his controversial split decision loss to Timothy Bradley on June 9 which was also held at the same hotel.

A four-division world champion, Juan Manuel Marquez IV is well known for his counter-punching skills. In 2004, Marquez recovered from three first-round knockdowns to forge a controversial draw with Pacquiao.

Four years later, they fought again with Pacquiao eking out a disputed split decision, anchored mainly on a third-round knockdown of Marquez. They waged another close battle in 2011 with the more aggressive Pacquiao gaining a majority decision. Marquez has claimed that he won all three fights. Both fighters predict a KO on or before round 4.
