Couchmans Park becomes a Cultural Park by Tony Malicdem

Couchman’s Park at St. Marys will become a Filipino Cultural Park on Saturday, May 2, 2009, when a group of various Filipino associations led by the Philippine Language and Cultural Association of Australia Inc. (PLCAA) will showcase Philippine Cultural Day highlighting various Philippine dances, songs, artworks, delicacies and products to the residents of St. Marys and Penrith under the Penrith City Council’s Magnetic Cultural Grants Program from 10am to 2:30pm.

 

The park fiesta will showcase the war dance from the Ilongo – Dinayag Connection Inc., the folk dances from the Dinayang Connection Inc., the Sydney-Australian Filipino Seniors Inc and the PLCAA’s school dancers. The PLCAA Glee club will sing Filipino Folk songs while the rest of the members will be selling food, other products and displaying artworks. – ?
