$1,000 per annum to MPC

Since 1990, I have been contributing at least $1,000 every year to the Multi-Purpose Centre with the hope that it would be completed someday. No receipts were ever issued to me but my records are complete because I have been issuing cheques payable to the Philippine Australian Community Foundation, Inc.

As of last year, my personal donations have amounted to at least $17,000.

Now I hear that they have sold the property in Rooty Hill. The MPC Managers have not even bothered to inform me about their intention to sell. With the amount of money I have donated, I believe I own a piece of that property.

Somebody also came to my office for a donation to “Kapamilya sa Australia.” I readily gave them my personal cheque for $500 but nobody informed me that the project was for the MPC. Had I known that it was for the MPC, I never would have given them the money.

At the moment, I have no further intentions of giving them any more. They had their chance but they failed to deliver.

Now they have bought another property in Schofields at a cost of over $1 million. How long will it take them to finally erect a building? Another 20 years? I will not give anymore of my hard-earned dollars for nothing.
