Is the Bohol Tremor a ‘Marian Event’? by Bernie Lopez

Is it coincidence that the Bohol earthquake in the Philippines occurred on October 15, 2013, the anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima? Is it coincidence that the cathedral of the Santo Niño (Holy Child) in Bohol, who has millions of devotees in the Visayas, was destroyed? Is it coincidence that the statue of Our Lady of Fatima is being received on the same day by Pope Francis at the Vatican, a historic event? At the crown of that statue is the bullet that almost killed Pope John Paul II in an assassination attempt, which was foretold in the Third Secret of Fatima. It was considered a ‘Marian intervention’ that saved the life of the Pope.

On the local scene, is it coincidence that we have been battered by disasters the last few weeks — 3 storms in Luzon, an earthquake in the Visayas, a war in Mindanao. Think hard if this is coincidence or if there [is] a message for us Filipinos? Is the Bohol tremor a Marian event, an omen, a warning, of new things to come? Extending to Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, is it possibly a prologue to a bigger one?

Many of us are indifferent to the prophets of doom, but those affected in Bohol and Cebu who have seen this relatively mild earthquake (7.2 on the Richter Scale) are alarmed, praying for a Marian intervention to forestall the wrath of the Lord.

On the global scene, we are at the crossroads of three critical global events. First is the potential escalation of the Syrian war into a regional nuclear confrontation that may eventually usher in World War III. Second is the shutdown of the U.S. government which may be the beginnings of a global economic meltdown, if the dollar goes into a tailspin. Third is the discovery of radioactive tuna in the Pacific Ocean. Kept secret by the Japanese government, leaks have been occurring continuously at Fukushima, hinting of future massive fish contamination in the entire Pacific, which may be irreversible.

We have seen semblances of what the messages of the Third Secret of Fatima are trying to tell us, such as the Asian-tsunami-that killed-a quarter-of-a-million-people. The earthquake in Chile in the 80s, largest ever in human history, sent a tsunami all the way to the Japan, 8,000 kilometers away.

We are in a new era of ‘global earthquakes’, which can affect an entire hemisphere, hinted by Fatima messages. Finally, the gold mine project of Glencore-Xstrata-SMI in Tampakan, South Cotabato, will build a 1.3 billion-metric-ton toxic tailings dam in perpetuity in the middle of the lush Mindanao breadbasket. The mining firms have infiltrated the President’s mining commission with Malacañang agents, who will decide on Tampakan. If President Aquino approves this, and the dam breaks, we have a mega-disaster triggering famines in the long term.
