Ric de Vera has organised ‘The Grace-Media Golf Cup’ on Sunday, December 15, at the Hudson Golf Course, Strathfield, with The Grace Hotel as major sponsor. This is an initial fund-raiser for the newly-formed Filipino Australian Basketball (FAB) League.
Media participation will be by ‘caddying’. Each golfer will be accompanied on the golf course with a member of the Filipino media as a ‘caddy’. A feature of the Cup is that the caddy will putt for the golfer at every hole (wow, 18 of them).
The golfer pays for green and players’ fees, and the caddy pays $10 for putting privileges. Golfers and their caddies will share the trophies and other prizes. Lunch will be served during the presentation of trophies.
Members of the Filipino media, especially those who have never played golf before, are invited to take part in this ‘Grace-Media Golf Cup’. If successful, there are plans to hold the Cup annually.
