Boholanos provide accommodation for disabled child

Once a year since his prosthetic limbs were fitted in 2004, Juriel Amora has been returning to Sydney to have his artificial legs and arm replaced. Juriel was born without both legs. His left arm was also missing. It was reported that his mother had Rubella (German measles) during pregnancy.

Thanks to the generosity of Danny Simms, a New Zealand Missionary, the young Amora can now walk. His left shoulder has also been fitted with a prosthetic arm.

But because he is a growing child, it becomes necessary for him to travel back to Sydney from his native island of Bohol every year to have a new set of limbs fitted.

Last month, it was Romeo Alampayan of Bohol Motor Repairs who shared his home with Juriel and his father during their 2 weeks stay. Boholanos take turns in hosting accommodations for Juriel.

The Bohol Association is now looking for the next generous Boholano family who will volunteer to offer Juriel accommodations for next year.

Those interested can call Romy Alampayan at (02) 9832 8266 or his mobile: 0416 240 888.
