The big bully that is China by Nostradino

How much longer is Juan de la Cruz willing to accept the punches from a big bully? Is it not high time to fight back?

China has pushed the Philippines away from its own territory. They have used water cannons on Filipino fishermen from Scarborough Shoal and blocked our supply ships at Ayungin Reef. Chinese fishermen have been harvesting giant clams and endangered corals from Philippine territory. If that is not bullying and aggression, I don’t know what else to call it.

Do many Filipinos realize how close our country is to war? It is not unusual for war to begin with a single shot, regardless of where the bullet comes from. Maybe for China, it is just a game but tension is being felt by the military

Malacañang has been acting in moderation on the issue that has been going on for several months. It has lodged a complaint with the United Nations against China but the latter was unwilling to participate in the deliberations. Diplomatic protests have been sent but China has rejected it and has simply shrugged its shoulders.

One columnist said that “War against China will mean a massacre of Filipino soldiers. If China gets crazy mad, it can bomb and kill even Filipino civilians.” Do we really want that to happen?

Can the Philippines expect help from other nations

Filipinos must shed first blood. They must be the first to give life and limb before other nations will intervene. We must make the first sacrifice, no matter how many lives it takes.

Remember the original English lyrics of the Philippine National Anthem? “Never shall invaders trample our sacred shores.”
