Ateneo Alumni Convention to be held in New York

The biennial All-Ateneo Alumni Convention, Convergence 2014, is going to be held in New York City on August 21, 22, and 23, in cooperation with the Ateneo Alumni Association North America, Inc., co-sponsored by the Filipino American National Historical Society of New York. This is a gathering of alumni from various Jesuit schools in the world.

Alumni from Jesuit schools in the Philippines and Australia are of course invited to attend.

To be honoured at the convention Gala Dinner is High School class 1964, together with batch 63, as Golden Jubilarians.  Other Jubilarian classes are 1973, 1974, 1988, 1989.  The first coed graduates from college 1976 and 1977 will also be honoured.

The theme of the convention plenary session is “The role of Ateneans in the Filipino Diaspora.” Activities will include updates from the current Presidents of the various Ateneos including Fr. Jett Villarin, SJ, HS 1976 and College 1980, current President of ADMU. The keynote speech will be given by Conrado Gempesaw, Ph.D., the new president of St. John’s University in New York City, and alumnus of Ateneo de Davao.
