‘Dead’ Filipino toddler wakes up inside coffin

A three-year-old girl who had been declared clinically dead by doctors woke up at her funeral service after a mourner checked on her coffin.

The young girl from Zamboanga del Sur was due to be buried the following day following a funeral service. A relative removed the lid to check on her and saw the youngster’s head move.

This prompted them to check and confirmed that the girl had pulse and was alive.

They really could not make any confirmation on the status of the girl but based on the observation of a police officer present, it appeared that the girl was in a state of comatose. The family wanted the girl transferred to a better equipped hospital.

The girl was brought to another hospital after the family claimed that they saw her move inside the coffin. However, when doctors checked again for vital signs they found nothing. No pulse, no heartbeat nor any sign of breathing.

When the doctors were asked how it was possible that the family saw her move (they even claimed that she urinated inside her coffin) the doctors were unable to explain why. They said that sometimes if a corpse has not been embalmed, fidgeting of some body parts happen.

It was confirmed by a representative from the regional Department of Health that the girl is indeed dead when it was first announced in the hospital. (Daily Mail)
