Kidney patient appeals for medicine by Dr. Willie Ong, MD

MANILA, Philippines. Twenty-nine year old Richie Garbino, a patient of Operation Damayan, The Philippine STAR’s socio-humanitarian arm, visited The STAR office to express his gratitude for his successful kidney transplant operation at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute.

Richie, a security guard, would like to thank Mr. Manoling Morato, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and other anonymous donors for helping foot the bill for his operation.

However, as a kidney transplant patient, Richie still needs maintenance medicine worth P50,000 a month for one year, so that his body will not reject the newly-transplanted kidney.

Richie is appealing to kind-hearted people to help him with his medicine in order for him to fully recover and be able to go back to work.

Richie may be reached through cell number 0928-755-6657. Donations may also be sent to: Operation Damayan, Philippine Star; MetroBank Port Area Branch; Account number 15130-4161-6229; or Swift Code MBT CPH MM.

To confirm donations, contact The Philippine STAR at telephone number 527-7777. – ?
