De La Salle Hits the Mark By Benjie de Ubago

The De La Salle Alumni celebrated their anniversary last month at the Blacktown RSL Club. Of course, green was the colour of the night!

There was no fancy fanfare, no pretences. Except for President Bart Sarlabus’ welcome remarks and raffle announcements, there were no drawn out speeches.

What was evident was subtle overtones of class, camaraderie and friendship which permeated the room. It was catch-up time with old friends.  Special guest of the evening was Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis, a DLSU alumna.

Green Archers dance exhibition

There was a live band, a little dance exhibition and lots of room for the green archers, their friends and partners to get down and boogie. And that they did!

Making it all happen in full “Animo La Salle” spirit were the officers of the De La Salle Alumni which include:  Bart Sarlabus, President; Bert Rejante, Vice President/Secretary; Edu Davila, Treasurer and former President. Other Directors include:  Miguel Florentino , JJ Lindaya, Mike Moran, Mike Salalila and Joey Reyes.

Established in 2002, De La Salle Alumni Association in Australia is focused on building relations with fellow alumni and they continue to provide scholarship grants for students of their alma mater. De La Salle also participates in Sydney’s Filipino community’s NCAA Bowling tournaments. ? (www.filipin-oz.com)
