Grange Avenue closed to traffic

Schofields NSW. Dec. 15, 2014. Grange Avenue that leads to the present location of Philippine Australian Cultural Centre (PACC), better known as Multi-Purpose Centre (MPC) was closed to traffic because of impassable flood waters.

A spokesperson from Blacktown Council said that they decided to close Grange Avenue at the request of  the SES for safety reasons.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the 80mm which fell on December 14 equalled the total average rainfall for the area for one month.

Carols by candlelight at MPC Schofields

There were reports that some performers failed to attend the event at MPC because of heavy rains that fell on December 13. People who gathered at the canvas covered court had to take shelter inside the small 3-bedroom house. Christmas carols were sung anyway.

Cars stuck in mud

Many cars got stuck in mud because they were parked in the area that was previously used to plant vegies. This was confirmed by Mr. Reming Biala himself whose own car had to be pulled out the day after. The MPC property is now being offered for sale.
