Student visa holder now a permanent resident

After getting a taste of life in Australia, many who come here to study dream of acquiring permanent residency with an ultimate ambition to become Australian citizens. There are stories about Filipino parents who sell properties just to send a son or a daughter to study at TAFE (Technical and Further Education), matriculation of which has increased tremendously over the past several months.

Such did not happen in the case of Miss Angeline Montilla who graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of the Philippines. Thus, she earned a scholarship for a Master’s Degree in Professional Accounting at the University of Queensland, Sydney campus where she graduated with Distinction.

Knowing that her student visa was about to expire, she was making preparations to return to Manila.

But her story does not end there. This pretty lass from the Philippines was invited by the Department of Immigrations to apply for permanent residency status.

Well, she did just that and after only two months, she received a letter from Immigrations that her application was successful. Although she works full time in the city, she’s now more confident of finding a much better paying job in Sydney.  Of course she’s willing to consider any kind of offer but she can’t be blamed for being choosy.

Asked if she has a boyfriend, she just smiled. Not to mention her brains, with a face and curves in the right places, she undoubtedly has many suitors. Angeline has done modelling jobs on TV, ramp and with many prestigious magazines in the Philippines. But in Australia, she is an exclusive model of Philippine Sentinel.
