Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, 26 is a Filipino-German actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was the Philippine representative for the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant. She is now Miss Universe 2015 and will retain her crown until the next beauty tilt. She stands a towering 5’8″ and speaks fluent Filipino, English and German.
Pia was born in Stuttgart, Germany but grew up in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. She has one sister who is two years younger than her.
Miss Wurtzbach finished her secondary education with the ABS-CBN Distance Learning Center and studied culinary arts at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in Metro Manila, Philippines. She also worked as a model for a cosmetics company.
At the age of 4, under the screen name Pia Romero, she worked as an actress and was managed by the Theatrical Agency of ABS-CBN.
Before winning the world title, Pia was a stylist and writer for the lifestyle section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, a leading newspaper in the Philippines.
Among her TV credits are the teen-oriented series K2BU, the concert variety program ASAP, the romance anthology Your Song, the sitcom show Bora, and the drama series Sa Piling Mo.
She appeared in films such as Kung Ako Na Lang Sana (2003), All My Life (2004), and All About Love (2006).
