Sydney-based Filipino Australian conquers the World of Arts

Philippine-born Sydney-based artist Remnim Alexander Tayco has established himself as a fine exponent of the arts. He draws intensive oil paintings in the 17th century Dutch style.

Remnim completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the National Art School in 2000. A year later, he obtained a Master of Arts academic award from the University of New South Wales. The Filipino artist was mentored by the renowned Sydney artist Charlie Sheard.

Since 2010, Remnim has held seven solo exhibitions including Folded Lines at Broken Hill Regional Gallery. In 2015, his work has been represented in a number of prestigious group exhibitions, including a major event for Australia China Week in Tianjin, China. And in 2013, Remnim’s intensely beautiful imagery impressed the judges at the Mosman Art Prize where he was awarded the Fourth Providore Young Emerging Artist Award.
