Road rage killer captured

MANILA, Philippines It was reported in a Philippine newspaper that a wet towel left lying on the floor led to the capture of one of the country’s most wanted fugitives. Seeing the black towel, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) were convinced that Jason Ivler was inside the house of his mother. The Filipino American was found hiding inside a stockroom among some mannequins. The beam of a flashlight revealed that Ivler’s tattooed arm was intertwined with one of the mannequins.

“Come out of there, Jason Ivler. We are from the NBI,” NBI officer Angelito Magno shouted. But the man acted “like Rambo” and answered him with bursts of gunfire. Two NBI agents were hit and wounded.

Two months after he went into hiding, the 27-year-old Ivler—an American charged with murder for the killing of a motorist—was captured by his hunters while hiding in his mother’s home at Blue Ridge Subdivision in Quezon City.

Ivler’s Filipino mother, Marlene Aguilar, was detained and later charged by the NBI with obstruction of justice. Prior to Ivler’s arrest, Aguilar denied the presence of her son inside the house.
