Actors needed for Rizal Play by Neria Soliman

A newly-organized theatre arts company in the Filipino community is now conducting an open audition for children, youth, and adults from age 7 to 70. No stage experience is required as free training will be provided to interested people with good speaking voice, clear diction, and who can make themselves available during week-end rehearsals.

This is a maiden presentation of Fine Artist Collaboration (FAC), a dedicated group of professional Filipino artists in Sydney. They have banded themselves together to help preserve, promote, and develop Philippine arts and culture via theatre, music and dance collaborations.

The project is duly endorsed by Philippine Consul General Eva Betita in conjunction with the 112th Philippine Independence Day Celebration. This full length play is based on the martyrdom and heroism of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. Entitled, “HER SON, JOSE RIZAL”, the play is written by the late National Artist Leonor Orosa Goquingco. It is scheduled for performances in mid-July 2010 at the Blacktown Arts Centre.

Through this new community theatre stage production, FAC offers an alternative form of educational entertainment as a dynamic vehicle to rekindle the spirit of patriotism amongst us migrants. It will educate the children and youth of Filipino parentage, our unique cultural identity and heritage, values, customs and traditions.

The FAC-Production and Artistic Team is composed of: Alberto Dimarucut and Armando Reyes, founding artistic directors; Brian Lorenz Babon, Company Manager; Albert Prias, Production Designer; Loi Neria Soliman, Marketing Director; Evelyn Zaragosa, Publicity and Promotions Director; and Dr. Mars Cavestany-Singh, Artistic Consultant.

For particulars, please call Albert Dimarucut (0401 467 000), Brian Lorenz (0437 476 651)or Armando Reyes (0466 156 639).
