Who will be the next President?

Our votes on May 10 will determine the path our country will take far beyond the six years that the next President will stay in office.

Our people have suffered for many decades because of poor leadership tainted by corruption and greed. Our development has been stunted because of the politics of vengeance that the self-righteous have employed.

It is time for a leader with a proven record of change. Now is not the time to experiment with our country. Everyone is complaining that the country finds itself in a life and death situation. Let me ask you this — if your life depended on a critical open heart surgery procedure, which doctor would you ask to actually perform the procedure on you? The one who owns the most expensive, best equipped hospital in the country but who leaves a trail of malpractice suits? The general practitioner who has an excellent bedside manner and who comes from a long line of well-respected doctors, but who has never performed the procedure before? Or the no-frills one who has performed the surgical procedure successfully thousands of times? I would put my life in the hands of experience and a great batting average at successful operations. I’d want to live!

Let’s elect a leader who has already done what we are all looking for – created jobs and livelihood, uplifted people from their suffering, saved thousands of lives, and rebuilt devastated communities.

We need a President who will build on the gains we have already made, do the things that remain undone, and lead with integrity by example.
