Scientology was first introduced into the country on April 2004 through the opening of a new Church of Scientology Mission of Manila. Present were actor David Pomeranz and Filipino martial artist Ernie Reyes, Jr. It was attended by government officials and community leaders including representatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Also launched was the Scientology premier source text, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
Since then Scientology has slowly expanded its operations in the country. On July 2007, the Asian Goodwill Tour of the Scientology volunteer ministers arrived in Manila and held a conference in UP Diliman. They discussed solutions and tools that the Filipino people can use to improve their lives. A textbook series of the Scientology texts known as the Scientology Handbook was also announced during the conference. On February 2008, Dangerous Drug Board Chairman Anselmo S. Avenido Jr. awarded a plaque of recognition to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard for his humanitarian commitment and contributions to the field of drug education and rehabilitation.
On April 2008, Scientology International donated an eighteen-volume limited edition of L. Ron Hubbard’s The Basics to the Cebu City Library at Osmena Boulevard, Cebu City to share the knowledge developed by their founder to improve the people’s conditions in life.
At present, Scientology does not have a considerable following in the country. However the drive to promote Scientology is still going strong, and local Scientology missions have been established in Metro Manila to combat drug abuse as well as through various volunteer ministries in the provinces.
The Church of Scientology Mission of the Philippines is registered as a religious organization by the government of the Philippines.

Scientology is a SCAM. A simple Google search will tell you everything you need to know about this “religion”, whose only aim is to entrap its members in a fantasy and milk them of their hard-earned money to supposedly experience enlightenment and feel their best versions of themselves – which is completely false. So, my advice is to not be blinded into joining this cult just because your favorite movie star is a member of this ‘religion’. YOU ARE BETTER OFF NOT JOINING SCIENTOLOGY. Trust me, it really is.
