Widow seeks justice for slain husband

Juliet Arrogante and her son Renerio IV are in Sydney seeking as many signatures they could gather from Filipino Australians. Their objective is for the Australian government to intervene so that the criminal case lodged against the suspected killer of Renerio ‘Jun’ Arrogante III would be heard in Manila instead of Daanbantayan in Cebu. With the powerful clout of the suspected mastermind, the Arrogante family is very much in doubt that justice will prevail if the court hearing will take place in Cebu.

Jun Arrogante is an Australian citizen who was gunned down in front of his office in Cebu on 9 March 2008. Exactly 40 days after he died, a suspect who is in active military service was arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation. The suspect was positively identified by Arrogante’s wife Juliet and her son who were both with the victim at the time he was shot.

A Memorial Service was held at the St. Michael’s Parish in Blacktown on 24 May 2008. Thousands attended in support of the Arrogante family’s quest for justice.

Linna Mitchell is a sister of Jun Arrogante. She is a practicing accountant based in Caringbah, NSW. Community leader Neil Galang who is a close family friend has introduced Juliet to Federal MP Roger Price.
