Letter to the Editor: Follow-up on Hapag/GK Story

Following the Gawad Kalinga Story published last month, the following statements were received:

18 January 2011. Ms. Yolanda Gacho of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) states: “This is to inform your readers that Ms. Musa is not a member of Alpha Phi Omega (APO). She was involved with the APO Young Ambassador Quest as Chairman, representing ADOLP. APO was represented by myself as Co-Chairman at the 2007 and 2008 quest. Further staging of the Young Ambassador was carried out without the knowledge of APO. This project was presented to APO by Brod Gerry Musa, who was the appointed Project Leader of the APO Village in Paranaque. He was also appointed as the APO / GK Coordinator but replaced last year by Brod Raul Manongdo.

Please let it be known that any APO representation by Ms J. Musa or Brod Gerry Musa is not officially sanctioned by APO unless otherwise specifically announced by the APO Board”

19 January 2011. Mr. Jun Relunia of ADOLP (Australian Devotees of Our Lady of Peñafrancia) states:

“As one of the Peñafrancia groups, we would like to reiterate that our group, ADOLP did not receive any proceeds from the Young Ambassador projects in 2007 and 2008. ADOLP was not involved in any capacity in the Young Ambassador projects in 2007 and 2008. Josie was not representing ADOLP in these projects.”
